Toroka

Limited Liability Company “Agro-tourism hunting and fishing economy Toroka” was created in accordance with the Civil Code of the Republic of Belarus, the Law of the Republic of Belarus about economy societies, the State Program of the development hunting economy for 2006-2015 years.

Our organization provides the following services:

  • Hunting;
  • Fishing;
  • Agro-ecological tourism;
  • Harvesting and wood processing.

Hunting

Toroka is located in the territory of Petrikovsky district, Gomel region. Total area of hunting grounds is 55026 hectares: forest reserve cover 29933 hectares, wild fields occupy 21747 hectares, ponds and marshes occupy 3346 hectares. The main part of hunting grounds is represented by large forest and forest-swamp arrays of Petrikov forestry. Bogs provide widespread pinery game (capercaillie, black grouse). The Pripyat River, which is characterized by prolonged flood, is a major migration corridor of the spring birds’ migration, determining the exceptional richness of wetland wildlife.

The main hunting species are elk, wild boar, deer, roe deer, hare, grouse, capercaillie and wildfowl. Our organization provides an opportunity to hunt in all seasons owing to the variety of different animal species. Toroka has qualified chasseurs staff.

Fishing

In the area of the Pripyat River (length 23 km) and adjacent to the river basins with total area – 555,6 hectares, our hunting and fishing economy organized amateur fishing and fee-fishing. In Pripyat live 47 species of river and lake fish, which belong to 11 fish families. They are – pike, perch, catfish, zander, chub, bream, silver bream, roach, crucian carp and other. Fee-fishing is carried out by selling vauchers. We also provided free amateur fishing for local residents.

Ecological Tourism

Flora of our fishing and hunting economy is represented by different species of higher plants, part of them is included in the Red Book of Belarus. Among them are such species as big horsetail, curly lily, white water-lily, dream-grass, primroses and other. Widespread the following forest animals: wild boar, elk and deer. The balance of animal population is regulated by wolf, lynx, marten, foxes and ferrets.
Our hunting ground is a home to the following types of birds: great and small white herons, gray and red herons, swans, various types of shorebirds, gulls, ducks, grouses, capercaillies and birds of prey – owls, ospreys, serpent eagles, white-tailed eagles, large and lesser spotted eagles, etc. Some species of vertebrates listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus – a badger, lynx, black stork, plower, oyster and mursh turtle, large and medium curlews, copperhead, and most birds of prey.
For observation of the animals are used hiking, water, roads trails and observation towers. We created all conditions for resting and temporary residence. For this purpose our organization has hunter’s house in 10-12 places on the riverside Pripyat in the village Snyadin. Cozy rooms, kitchen, shower, toilets, refrigerator, TV and dinning room create a home-like atmosphere in our house.
